Hi everyone, First time poster on here but this website has helped me a lot through the years! I'm having a problem with my laptop. It keeps disconnecting from my wifi and a lot of the time when it is connected, it is very slow. Laptop is a HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC which came with windows 8.1 but I updated to windows 10 as soon as I bought it. Was bought about 8 months ago but problem has been occuring for about 3 months. I don't think it's a problem with the wifi modem as my phone, tablet and other laptops work fine. I've tried the laptop on several different modems and the problem is still there. Ethernet cable fixes the issue so I'm guessing it's the wifi driver. Driver is a broadcom bcm43142 802.11 bgn. I've tried to update the driver but it says it's up to date. I tried rolling back the driver which helped for a few hours but it soon became even worse then before. Anyone suggest anything I can do to fix it? This is the latest driver for the Broadcom 43142 Bluetooth wireless driver. The driver is for the Windows 7 32/64bit operating system and being the latest version: 6.30.59.91 (XP Version) and 6.30.59.91 (Win7 version). Also, I don't know if this is related or not but at around the same time I started experiencing this wifi problem, the light on my mute button stopped working as well.
